Why Diagnostics Matter – Even at Home
Diagnostics such as blood tests are tools we use to look beneath the surface
— things like blood tests, urine samples, or even blood pressure checks. They help us understand how
your pet's organs are functioning, even if everything seems fine on the outside.
Senior Pets: More Than Just "Slowing Down"
- Kidney disease may develop without symptoms until it's advanced
- Thyroid disorders can cause weight loss or anxiety
- Diabetes, liver issues, and arthritis often appear gradually
We recommend senior wellness checks annually — including a blood test and sometimes a
urine sample. The earlier we catch something, the more we can do to manage it comfortably
at home.
For Pets of Any Age
- They have repeated vomiting, diarrhoea, or weight changes
- They’re unusually tired or thirsty
- Something “just seems off” and we want to rule out deeper causes
- Before certain medications or anaesthesia
These tests are often quick, minimally invasive, and give valuable peace of mind.
Why Do It At Home?
- No stressful transport or waiting rooms
- Pets are more relaxed = better blood pressure and heart rate readings
- No “white coat effect” (anxious pets often hide symptoms in clinics)
- We can see your pet in their usual environment, which helps us spot subtle clues
Our mobile vets are fully equipped to collect samples and run standard diagnostics — all without your
pet ever leaving the sofa.
